Ionian Village Cancels Summer 2020 Programs

NEW YORK – The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the Office of Ionian Village regretfully announce today the cancellation of all Ionian Village Summer 2020 programming due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across the globe. This includes IV Next as well as both sessions of the Archdiocese’s annual summer camp in Greece.

The decision was reached by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, Fr. Andreas Vithoulkas, Chancellor of the Archdiocese, and Fr. Gary Kyriacou, Director of Ionian Village, in consultation with a team of medical professionals. Commenting on this decision, Fr. Gary stated, “The health and safety of all who attend Ionian Village is a great concern. The physical and spiritual well-being of the youth of our Archdiocese and those prepared to serve them is always our top priority.”

The dedicated staff of Ionian Village is currently exploring innovative options for how to bring this unique ministry of the Archdiocese to the faithful in 2020. Updates will be posted on the official media platforms of Ionian Village as soon as they become available. For more information, please visit
